How it Works

- Schedule your 75-minute Task Force visit.
- We complete the approved tasks and identify any additional repairs for separate evaluation.

HVAC Air-Filter Replacement
Replace standard residential air filters in accessible locations. You may supply the filter, or we can provide it for an additional charge. This covers filter replacement only, not HVAC diagnosis, cleaning, or repairs.
Bathroom Fixture Upkeep
Tighten existing accessories or replace mounting anchors, with up to one toilet-paper holder, one towel ring, one towel bar, and one robe hook per visit. Work uses existing mounting locations and requires suitable wall conditions. Accessory replacement, plumbing, and wall or tile repairs are not included.
Smoke Alarm/CO Detector Combination Service
Battery-replacement labor covers accessible smoke alarms, CO detectors, and combination units. We service as many as can reasonably and safely be completed within the included 75-minute visit. Batteries are not included: supply them yourself or approve an additional product charge. Replacing a whole battery-operated unit is separately quoted. Hardwired work, diagnosis, and repairs are excluded.
Accessible Lightbulb Replacement
Replace standard residential bulbs in accessible fixtures. There is no fixed quantity limit; we replace as many as can be completed safely within the 75-minute visit. You may supply the bulbs, or we can provide them for an additional charge. Fixture repairs, rewiring, and electrical troubleshooting are excluded.
Picture & Lightweight Décor Hanging
Hang pictures, framed art, lightweight mirrors, clocks, and similar décor weighing no more than 20 lb per individual item. Suitable residential wall surfaces and mounting conditions are required. Standard screws and anchors are included. Specialty mounting hardware costs extra.
Doorknob & Deadbolt Combination Replacement
Replace one doorknob and deadbolt combination on one door per visit. Hardware must fit the existing prepared openings. Supply compatible hardware yourself or approve an additional charge for us to provide it. New holes, door or frame modifications, and repairs are excluded.
The Task Force Membership
- $75 per 75-minute visit, every six months.
- One 75-minute visit during each six-month membership period.
- One residential property per membership.
- Replacement products are charged separately.
- The included visit must be used within its six-month period.
- Additional visits and handyman repairs are quoted separately.
- Available in select Chicago service ZIP codes and Oak Park.
Built From Experience
The Task Force grew from years of hands-on handyman and construction work and from an earlier Handyman Division subscription concept. After seeing how often small maintenance tasks are postponed, we rebuilt the idea around simple, scheduled home upkeep.
